2017 Daily Painting Day 24

Yay!  Yesterday I turned in my last project for the semester at Drake.  This was an interesting project. Spanish students met with Spanish-speaking individuals from other countries.  They shared a family or cultural legend in Spanish that the students had to translate.  The country of origin for my Spanish-speaking person was Mexico.  She shared a family legend about her brother, who has a second sight of some sort and reaches out to family members when he sees trouble looming on the horizon.  In one instance he called Anna with a warning while she was with her mom were in the kitchen and somehow the fact that the call came in on a yellow phone was featured in the story.  When I researched why this was significant, the color yellow in some areas of the country can represent death.  In her story, her husband who was not from Mexico, I believe the US, seemed skeptical that there were forces or worlds beyond which we can see.
